How to Get to CQU
During the registration period (refer to Attachment 5: Orientation Schedule for CQU New International Students - 2015 Autumn Semester) prescribed by the University, the International Students’ Office (ISO) will arrange volunteers to pick up new international students at the exit of domestic arrival and international arrival of Chongqing Airport. Make sure you access the webpage of airport pick-up service at http://admission.cqu.edu.cn/ to book this service or send your flight information to the International Students’ Office via the email iso@cqu.edu.cn one week before the registration dates. When you arrive at the airport, try to find the pick-up sign that reads 重庆大学/CHONGQING UNIVERSITY held high by the volunteers at the exit. The volunteers there will help you get to Chongqing University (at your own expenses).
Note: the airport pickup service is provided only during the registration week (refer to the Attachment 5). Please note that the fee for this service, which comes to 200RMB (including taxi fee of around 160 and a tiny amount of volunteer service fee) , needs to be covered by the applicant, and should be delivered to the volunteer who provides the service.
If you have familiarized yourself with the route leading to Chongqing University, you may take a taxi or the subway to come to the University directly. Refer to the following for more details:
1. Taxi
The most convenient way to get to CQU from the airport is by taxi. As Chongqing Airport is located 30km from the campus, it will cost you around 80 RMB to get the university from the airport.
Show the HELP-ME CARD (see Attachment 2)to the taxi driver and inform the driver to drive to Xuelin Hotel or Songlipo International Students Apartment(refer to Chapter Ⅴ Life at CQU for details regarding your dormitory arrangement ) and that cab should enter the campus through the Main Gate of Campus A of Chongqing University. It takes approximately 50 minutes to arrive at CQU from the airport, depending on the traffic.
→School shuttle bus: there are school shuttle bus between Campus A to Campus D (or Huxi Campus), taking about 40 minutes. You may visit http://huxi.cqu.edu.cn/n/21349 for the timetable of the school bus.
2. Light rail and Subway
◆airport→campus A:you also have the option of first traveling to Liang Lu Kou(两路口)via the Light rail (Line 3) from Terminal T2B in the airport and then transfer to subway (Line 1) to get to Sha Ping Ba(沙坪坝). The total fare for both lines is about 10 RMB. Once you get off at Sha Ping Ba, take a taxi to Campus A of CQU (which will cost about 10 RMB), or walk towards Shazhengjie Street until you reach the main gate of CQU, which takes you about 20 minutes to cover the distance.
◆airport→campus D (Huxi Campus): those who have been arranged to live in Campus D (refer to Chapter Ⅴ Life at CQU for details regarding your dormitory arrangement) may transfer to Line 1, going all the way to the last stop of Da Xue Cheng(大学城),and take a taxi to Orchid Garden No.6(兰园6舍), which cost about 10 RMB to cover the 10-minute distance.
