Tips on Chinese Proficiency Requirements for Graduation
Dear degree international students,
According to the national and the University’s requirements on international student cultivation, international students studying degree programs must not only meet the requirements for course study & credits, thesis or papers, etc. stipulated in the program curriculum, but also meet the following requirements regarding Chinese proficiency requirements upon graduation.
1. International students enrolled in Chinese-taught programs must reach a minimum Chinese proficiency of HSK 5 level.
2. For international students enrolled in English-taught programs, a minimum Chinese proficiency of HSK 4 level is required for undergraduates and HSK 3 level for graduates.
3. Chinese Language and China Panorama are mandatory courses for all degree international students.
4. Undergraduate students majoring in Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Language must meet the Chinese proficiency requirements of scoring 180 or above in HSK6 level and 60 or above in HSKK Advanced level.
Graduating students are advised to carefully check whether they have completed all required courses and credits, and meet the relevant Chinese proficiency requirements. The university’s graduation and degree-awarding time is usually in June and December. If you plan to graduate in June, you must complete all courses, earn the required credits and pass relevent HSK level test before March 1st of the same year. If you aim to graduate in December, you must finish your coursework, fulfill the credit requirements and pass the relevant HSK level test before September 1st of the same year.
Please do check carefully and plan reasonably to make sure that all graduation requirements are met.
