Application Guide for International Exchange Program

ELIGIBILITY
Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens with valid passports, above the age of 18 and in good physical and mental health;
The home university of applicant should have signed student exchange agreements (still valid) with Chongqing University (CQU).
Applicant should be recommended by the home university and in the nomination list before application.
DURATION
The study duration for student exchange programs should be in accordance with the nomination letter issued by the home university and the signed student exchange agreements.
LANGUAGE REQUIREMENT
Applicants for Chinese-taught programs (Chinese language program excluded) need to provide score report of HSK level 4 (≥210) or other Chinese language proficiency proof.
Applicants for English-taught programs and whose native language is not English need to provide score report of English language proficiency test (a score above IELTS 6.0 or TOEFL Internet-based 80 or equivalent), or other English language proficiency proof, or a certificate indicating the applicants have studied in an English-speaking country for more than one year.
No mandatory Chinese proficiency requirements for those applying to study Chinese language.
APPLICATION DEADLINE
Spring intake: November 30
Autumn intake: June 10
APPLICATION AND ADMISSION PROCEDURES
The applicant’s home university sends the official nomination list to CQU.
The applicant creates and activates an account in our online application system at https://cqu.17gz.org/member/login.do. Fill in the application form, upload required supporting documents (colored scanned copy of the original version) and submit the application. The documents uploaded should be clear, complete, true, and valid. Incomplete or false applications will be rejected. The applicant is suggested to check the status of the admission process through the International Students Application System or emails.
CQU reviews students’ application and prepare admission documents for the admitted students.
The admitted students apply for visa with the admission documents, and contact the International Students Office (iso@cqu.edu.cn) for on-campus room reservation if needed.

Passport.
Study Certificate: official document of enrollment issued by the home university.

Physical Examination Form (click to download)
Certificate of Non-criminal Record. A valid certificate of Non-Criminal Record issued by the local public security authority, usually issued within 6 months prior to the submission date of the application.
Language Proficiency Certificate:
Other supporting materials required by the host university.
Note: All application documents must be in Chinese or English edition. Documents issued in the third language should be translated in Chinese or English editions.
FEES
The registration fee, tuition fee, and others will be conducted according to student exchange agreements.
