2. Fee for textbooks & other studying materials

International students shall buy books and studying materials out of their own pocket.

3. Rules on Payment & Refund

a. All Self-supported students, Chongqing Municipal Government Scholarship (and other partial scholarship) students shall pay tuition and accomodation fees within the first week from the first day of registration. Failure or incomplete payment of fees will lead to the cancelation of the X visa. Students should hold a valid passport and pay at the Finance Office of the university or at in-campus offices arranged by the Finance Office (please do not pay at banks) with the payment note issued by International Students Office.

Degree students should pay by academic year, languange students can pay by semester or academic year, and accomodation fees can be paied by semester or academic year.

In case of payment overdue one week, 5% of the total payment will be charged as an overdue fine. In case of overdue payment by twenty days, 10% of the total payment will be charged as an overdue fee. Those who fail to pay tuition one month later than the due time will be regarded as having dropped out.

b. Tuition fees and accommodation fees are non-refundable. However, for those unable to keep on studying due to tough financial situations of their family or serious illness, a refund is possible if a written application and relevant evidence presented. The conditions for a fee refund are as follows:

-- Tuition fee : Full reimbursement will be made for those who have applied to quit within the first week after the school opens, with 800 CNY deducted as a service fee; within the second week, 65% of tuition fee will be returned to the student; within the last two weeks of the first month, 45%will be returned; and after one month, no refund will be made.

-- Accommodation fee : the accommodation fee will be charged at a rate of 50RMB per day for a bed of the double room, and 80RMB per day for a single room and if a student applies for a refund within the first month of the semester. The amount to be refunded can be calculated by deducting the number of actual days of dwelling from the total amount paid. For instance , if student A paid 4500RMB for a single room for a semester , and 20 days after that , he applied for a refund , he can get 2900 RMB as a refund , as 4500 - 1600 = 2900 .

Note : 1600 is the room fee ( charged at a rate of 80RMB per day ) for 20 days .

The accommodation fee will be charged at a rate of 40RMB per day for a bed of the double room , and 60RMB per day for a single room. If a student applies for the refund within the first month of the semester, the same calculating method above can be applied in this case . For stays exceeding three months , no refund will be made .

c. If students who have paid the tuition fees for two semesters in a lump sum apply for a transfer to other universities or quit school for the second semester, an 800RMB service fee will be charged, and the above article b will apply. For accommodation in such case , a 300 RMB service fee will be charged, and the above article b will apply.
