Tourist Attractions
Chongqing has many tourist attractions.
Main scenic spots: the Three Gorges, Dazu Stone Carvings, Ciqikou, Zha Zidong, Bai-Gong-guan, Jindao Gorge, Wulong Fairy Mountain, Lotus Cave and the Three Stone Bridges.
Chongqing is famous for its delicious Sichuan style cuisine and hotpot.
Chinese Festivals and Holidays
International students enjoy the same Chinese festivals and holidays as Chinese students do. Chongqing University does not take holidays for other countries’ festivals and holidays. One to three days’ leave can be approved for students to celebrate their countries’ important festivals. In addition to winter and summer vacations, important Chinese festivals and holidays are:
New years’ Day (Janury. 1): 1 day off plus a weekend
Tomb-sweeping Day (Around April 5): 1 day off plus a weekend
May Day (May 1): 1 day off plus a weekend
Dragon Boat Festival (Lunar calendar: May 5): 1 day off plus a weekend
Mid-autumn Day (Lunar calendar: August 15): 1 day off plus a weekend
National Day (October 1): 3 days plus two weekends
