2025 Application Guide for Chongqing Municipal Government Mayor Scholarship for International Students
In order to encourage more outstanding international students to pursue degree programs in Chongqing, Chongqing Municipal Government launches the Chongqing Municipal Government Mayor Scholarship (hereinafter referred to as Mayor Scholarship).
APPLICATION DEADLINE
April 25th, 2025 (Beijing Time)
COVERAGE
Master’s degree student: 30,000 RMB/academic year/person;
Doctoral degree student: 35,000 RMB/academic year/person.
The aforementioned scholarship will be awarded on a monthly basis in the form of a living stipend. Chongqing University additionally provides tuition waiver coverage, while other expenses, including but not limited to accommodation fees shall be borne by the scholarship recipients themselves.
The funding duration is aligned with the standard duration of the respective degree program.

NOTES
The duration of scholarship is the same as that of the program in Admission Notice and cannot be extended.
Those who submitted the pre-graduation certificate upon application should bring the official degree diploma for registration if admitted, otherwise the admission qualification will be cancelled.
Students shall go through and pass the annual review before they continue to enjoy the scholarship for a second year. Failure to pass the annual review will lead to terminationof the scholarship.
On receipt of the scholarship grant notice, students are required to confirm their acceptance of scholarship with Chongqing University and do the registration on time. Those who provide fake application process, fail to register on time, fail to pass the entrance health check, drop out midway and/or suspend their study will be deprived of scholarship.
Applicants are advised to check your registered email regularly, as the admission officer will inform all updates, arrange interviews and notify application status and scholarship result via email.
